Pasta is a universal term for food made from unleavened dough and water. It is possible that other ingredients such as eggs or water are added. It is often eaten with some sort of meat an covered in sauce. Pasta is a well loved food by many North Americans, although it originated in Europe and the Mediterranean area. Pasta is a staple in the diets of people around the world. It can be eaten in numerous ways and prepared in many different fashions. There are hundreds of different pasta shapes. The creation of pasta shapes can be compared to a designer who loves to create his or her art, for those who love pasta, the shapes are their art!

With so many varieties to choose from, the possibilities are endless. Pasta has an impressive and very interesting history, and wait until you find out how it is made! There are numerous different styles of pasta that can be made from various different types of wheat which you would never associate with pasta, such as buckwheat or corn wheat.Pasta is categorized in two basic styles: dried and fresh.  Furthermore, pasta can me stuffed or mixed with many different accompaniments such as vegetables, cheese, meat, nuts, seafood, beans and many more!
